We all know by now Knoxville is full of great things to do; at least that's what 99% of our posts here are trying to prove.
I'd like to take this opportunity to argue that Knoxville is also a great place to sit and do nothing.
Below is a photo of one of one of my favorite spots to "do" this very thing. It's right beneath the Gay Street Bridge near Calhoun's.
Feel free to have your very own old man/woman moment there today.

Do you feed the birds bread crumbs down there, B?
I run past that spot all the time! Funny I have never seen you...maybe next time!
tuppence a bag.
I have actually had a couple of romantic moments on that bench. Not "romantic moments" just regular old romantic moments.
Nice meeting you the other day b.
And I absolutely agree about that park bench. I've taken many strolls in my younger days there! Sadly, I have no time for such things and probably won't for another year at least!
I love swings, and that one is a particularly choice one. I wish we could get one for the porch, though I'd hate to see the end result.
Also, Mary Poppins is one of my all-time favorite films. That is all.
I love volunteer landing, though my personal favorite spot is actually the steps/stone bleachers that lead down just beside the river. Nothing better than sitting down there after midnight on a friday watching the vol navy assemble.
As for favorite benches, mine's got to be the second bench on the right after the rock jetty in Sequoyah Hills Park.
