As American as it Gets

Just a quick note to those thinking of attending The Market Square Farmers Market today. Old City Java in conjunction with Lindsay Beeson Productions will be selling ... wait for it: BACON COOKIES. You heard it right folks, Lindsay has been making the chocolate chip and bacon concoctions for a while now, and today they'll be at the Farmers Market.

By the way, Miss Beeson mentioned to me how she thinks the pre-baked fellers below look like an army of little princes with bacon crowns. I like where this girl's head is at. \
Come on down, and start the 4th off right indulging in America's love with overindulgence - she's selling them by the box.

Ms. Beeson here.

First, thank you for writing about my cookies, Robert! It was great seeing you on the market today, too.

And Adam, does Mr. Beeson know where to drop off those cookies? We could make some arrangements ;)

that's funny. magpies came out with some sort of bacon cupcake for father's day. that was the first i had heard of bacon-gone-dessert. is this a new trend or is it just now getting publicity?

i wish i had been able to try one, though i typically like my meat to be salty and my cookie to be sweet. i won't knock it til i try it though.

@B Oh the meat is still salty, and the cookie's still sweet. That's the beauty of the thing ... like dipping your Wendy's fries in a frosty.

'Cause everyone does that, right?

I totally dip my fries in the frosty!

Lindsay, that's the best argument I've heard for bacon cookies yet. Because yes, I totally dip my fries in the Frosty. In fact, I'd like some fries and a Frosty now :)

or swiping your bacon in maple syrup...mmmm.

this is benton's bacon right? pleeeease!

or applewood thick-cut pepper-corn bacon.

my mouth is watering.

I've actually wanted a lead on the best local bacon to use. I'm *relatively* new to Knoxville (two years), and I'm afraid I just don't know.

... Benton's then? Any others I should check out?

PS: I'm not the only fry/frosty lover! Joy. I have long assumed it was a weird person quirk (with all the wrinkled noses I've gotten when I mention it). Nice to have friends ...
