Some thoughts, observations etc. from the past 24 hours.
#1 Some people just take laziness to new heights. (ps - that's a christmas tree on top of a car in April)
Because the disappointment of having to take down the tree after Christmas can be avoided by simply never putting it up.
#2 - Went to see State of Play last night at the Riviera, couple of sub points:
A. Ticket prices have jumped again. $9 a pop for a ticket (good thing we got free ones as a gift) and a small popcorn and drink alone set us back $10.25. listen I get that the theatres have to turn a profit, I respect that. I just think they may be overplaying their hand. I love movies, but not more than a love a good meal. If I have to chose between the two, which I would because full price for both is insane, the movies lose. That's why God invented Netflix.
B. State of Play reminded me of the big picture problem with the red light cameras. If we continue down a path of corporatizing law enforcement we will all soon be left without basic protections in our legal system. It truly will be "us vs. them".
#3 One my early morning walk this morning I went by the fountains at worlds fair. Deep breath... IF YOU WON'T PICK UP YOUR OWN BABIES DIAPER THAT YOU CHANGED ON THE PARK LAWN PLEASE, FOR THE LOVE OF ALL HUMANITY, LOCK YOURSELF IN YOUR HOME AND SPARE US ALL THE TROUBLE OF HAVING TO SUFFER YOU!!!!!
Seriously, there was so much trash on the ground I thought I was at a football game. Please don't litter, it's ridiculous and if you see someone doing it call them out. That's definitely something worth swinging a punch for.
Thank you for your time and attention.

you'd punch a baby to keep worlds fair park clean? wow pol. wow.
#3 - Those have become known as "diarrhea fountains" at WFP since they posted the sign for parents who just don't know any better. Also, it appears they no longer prevent people from playing in the main fountain by the Sunsphere either, or at least they didn't over the weekend when hundreds of kids were in town for the convention.
Yep. Mackey is right. The signage from the city for those fountains/splash pads clearly was an afterthought as well. A reaction to god only knows what.
Personally, those things are borderline disgusting.
Pol, you will find any excuse to mention the cameras, won't you? In fact, I'm surprised you didn't find a way to link your second and third points. What if the city suggests installing poopy diaper cameras in world's fair park? How would you feel about that?
God invented Netflix?!! No wonder I love it so much.
Potpourri or POLpourri?! Har dee har har.
Polpourri, thank you for your passion and angst.
Gross. And amen, brotha.
@#3: Littering pigs piss me off to no end. There is no excuse at all.
It takes little to no effort to bag your own trash, take it home and sort it to the proper trash or recycle bins.
here's a good one on the diaper issue. While working at the DGB upstairs, some idiot decided to change their baby on the table (yech!) and then as a lovely parting gift, actually set it in the chair for me to find. Nicely dressed, poorly trained.
Maybe all the dog owners should stop picking up after the puppies as a protest.
in my neighborhood, dog owners must definitely do not pick up after their puppies/dogs. the patch of "grass" at Gay and Vine is littered with dog poop all the time. It is sad and disgusting. People should know better. It's a public health threat, for people and the dogs.
Baby diapers are gross. I remember waiting tables and having similar experiences.
